Rachel has extensive experience in a range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. Rachel has conducted litigation in the Court of Appeal and advised on all aspects of employment law, including discrimination, TUPE, whistleblowing protection, sickness absence and redundancy. Rachel regularly undertakes advocacy in the Employment Tribunal. Rachel’s workload comprises a wide range of employment law issues acting for both employer and employees. This includes drafting employment contracts and service agreements, dealing with employment tribunal cases, advising on various HR issues including sickness absence, disability, conduct, TUPE, redundancy, etc.
Prior to working at Avery Law, Rachel carried out a substantial amount of NHS work, including advising Medical Directors and HR Directors on doctors’ disciplinary issues, contractual issues for senior NHS executives, drafting and negotiating settlement agreements and treasury approval applications and representing Trusts in doctors’ pay banding cases.
Rachel has a substantial amount of experience in delivering training on employment issues. Rachel has delivered training on TUPE, whistleblowing, transgender workplace issues, managing sickness absence, social media issues in the workplace and managing conflicts of interest.
Rachel joined Avery Law in 2019.
Advising senior executives on the termination of their employment, including negotiating favourable terms in relation to restrictive covenants, share options and other benefits.
Drafting documents including settlement agreements, service agreements, company handbooks, consultancy agreements, restrictive covenants, secondment agreements and policies.
Providing corporate support on various deals including preparing due diligence reports, reviewing employment aspects of SPAs, drafting service agreements and settlement agreements, etc.
